The Fund Manager: SeaChange

The Transformational Partnerships Fund is managed by SeaChange Capital Partners, a nonprofit with unrivaled experience helping nonprofits navigate mergers and other types of deep partnership.

SeaChange Capital Partners is a nonprofit that since 2008 has been a resource for nonprofits seeking to explore or complete mergers and others forms of sustained collaboration. SeaChange provides three things – a safe, confidential space for discussion and brainstorming; advice and referrals to third-party expertise; and grants to defray the exploratory costs. The grants come from four funds: the SeaChange-Lodestar Collaboration Fund (2008-present); the New York Merger and Collaboration Fund (2012-present); the Greater Philadelphia Nonprofit Repositioning Fund (2021-present) and the Transformational Partnerships Fund (2021-present). Across these funds, SeaChange has review more than 1,500 transactions and made 300+ grants. The Transformational Partnerships Fund was a response to the evident and growing need to build effective partnerships within higher education and the fact colleges and universities had begun to reach out to SeaChange beginning in 2015. SeaChange has also served as the coordinator of the  Sustained Collaboration Network.
